Forum Title: Need Some Ideas Here - Deck Drainage
I need some help brain storming solutions to an existing problem on one of my customerís houses. Hereís the situation: ïNorth side of the house. ïStructural concrete ìdeckî (covers the patio below from a walk-out basement). ïThe concrete deck is at sill height of the doors that walk out on to it. ïThere is a slight slope away from the house ñ not much but some. ïThere is a railing on the outside of the deck. It has some weep holes to allow water to run off. ïWhen it snows the snow is shoveled to the railing side ñ blocking any drainage to the weep holes. ïThe deck becomes an ice skating rink when itís cold. ïThe basement takes in water when the ice melts and the trims on the house sit in a pool of water (you can see some of the rot in the pictures). Is the only solution to tear this POS off the house and start over?
